By rethinking the possibilities for the kitchen we were able to open up the small and narrow kitchen and create a more livable and functional kitchen with access to the back patio for entertaining and watching their children play in the yard. The new design calls for higher ceilings, a central kitchen island used for food preparation, and an “integral” 36-inch wide sink that is fabricated into the countertop, making a seamless transition from flat surface to water basin.
